Interview with Cars Hommes in "European Economics at a Crossroads"
Cars Hommes is one of 10 European economists interviewed by Barkley Rosser, Richard Holt en David Colander in the recently published book European Economics at a Crossroads (Edward Elgar Publishing).
The book describes developments in European PhD programmes in economics and how these changes relate to the cutting edge research of European economists. The authors contend that the science of economics can no longer be described as "neoclassical" economics. Instead, the term "complexity economics" is a far more apt description.
The list of interviewed European economists includes Alan Kirman, Ernst Fehr, Mauro Gallegati, Laura Gardini and Soren Johansen, with comments from Janos Kornai and Reinhard Selten. European Economics at a Crossroads can be seen as the European version of The changing face of Economics. Conversations with Cutting Edge Economists, a book of interviews with 10 leading American economists (including names such as Ken Arrow, Rob Axtell, Ken Binmore, William Brock, and Deirdre McColskey) published by the same editors in 2004.
